Legacy
What we do
We seek to continue the scientific legacy of Dr. Antoni Esteve i Subirana, with the mission of generating and transferring knowledge in pharmacology through projects such as the UB – Dr. Antoni Esteve i Subirana Chair of Research in Pharmacology, and the Research Awards.
To this end, the actions developed within each project align with one or more of the following purposes:
We generate science
We organize conferences, round tables, and meetings to create spaces for scientific debate where experts can share and contrast knowledge on relevant topics in pharmacology.
We communicate science
We develop initiatives to foster the communication of scientific knowledge in health through courses, workshops and training activities aimed at researchers, and we promote initiatives that connect science with journalism and the media in order to facilitate and enhance communicative practice and research knowledge transfer.
We promote scientific culture
We bring science closer to society through inclusive and educational activities where science and culture interact to disseminate scientific knowledge, with special attention to promote the use of scientific terminology in Catalan.
Dr. Antoni Esteve i Subirana
His entrepreneurial spirit and his vocation for pharmacology led him to create the first original specialties on the second floor of the pharmacy that his family had had for five generations.
History
For more than 40 years, the Dr. Antoni Esteve Foundation promoted scientific research and communication initiatives in the field of pharmacology, helping preserve and project the legacy of Dr. Antoni Esteve i Subirana.
Today, this legacy continues through Dr. Antoni Esteve i Subirana Ciència, which carries the mission forward.
