UB – Dr. Antoni Esteve i Subirana Chair for Research in Pharmacology
Antoni Esteve i Subirana Ciència carries the mission of promoting research in pharmacology in memory of Dr. Antoni Esteve i Subirana, whose scientific contributions—through research, debate, and publications—helped advance modern therapeutics.
This mission aligns with the strategic vision and research trajectory of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Barcelona (UB), a key reference in pharmacology and pharmaceutical sciences.
This shared vision led to the creation, in 2024, of the UB – Dr. Antoni Esteve i Subirana Chair, a scientific collaboration space that develops research and knowledge‑transfer activities for researchers.
Objective of the Chair
The UB – Dr. Antoni Esteve i Subirana Chair for Research in Pharmacology promotes research and acts as a hub of attraction for female and male researchers.
For this reason, the purpose of the Chair is to become a meeting point where open and innovative scientific debate is encouraged through the organisation of various scientific events such as conferences, congresses, round tables, workshops…
Another of its defined goals is to provide opportunities for attracting young talent through support for research projects and the recognition of high‑quality research.
Finally, the Chair promotes publications aimed at experts in pharmacology.
